ABSTRACTEpinephrine(Ep)isanimportantcatecholaminessecretedbytheadrenalmedulla,mainlypresentinthesympatheticnervecells,centralnervoussystemandadrenalmedulla.Itplaysanimportantroleincardiovascularfunctionandcatabolism.Itsmetabolicdisorderoftenleadstotheoccurrenceofcertaindiseases.Inaddition,DNAasgeneticinformationstorageandcarriers,itisusuallyastargetmoleculeofsomedrugs.Therefore,tostudythedeterminationmethodsforEpandstudytheEpinteractionwithDNAhaveimportanttheoreticalvalueandpracticalsignificanceinclinicalmedicineandbiochemistry.TheelectrochemicalbehaviorsofEpanditsdeterminationwerestudiedonphosphateactivatedglassycarbonelectrodeandtheglassycarbonelectrode(GCE)modifiedwithhexadecyltrimethylammoniumbromide(CTAB)/multi-wallcarbonnanotubes(MWNTs)compositemembrane.TheelectrochemicalbehaviorsofEpandtheinteractionsofepinephrinewithDNAwerealsostudiedonaglassycarbonelectrodemodifiedwithAunano-particles.Theresultsareasfollows:PhosphateactivatedglassycarbonelectrodewaspreparedbycyclicvoltammetryandtheelectrochemicalbehaviorsofEpwerestudiedatthephosphateactivatedelectrode.TheexperimentalresultsshowthatepinephrinehassensitiveoxidationpeakcurrentsinpH=6.0phosphatebuffersolution.BasedontherelationshipoftheoxidationanodicpeakcurrentofEpanditsconcentrationintherangeof1.0×10-6~1.2×10-5mol/L,avoltammetricmethodfordeterminationofepinephrinewassetup.Thelinearregressiveequationwasipa(×10-4A)=0.5346CEp(×10-5mol/L)+0.6457withr=0.9984.Thedetectionlimit(S/N=3)was3.0×10-7mol/L.Theinterferenceofuricacidcouldbediminishedinthismethod.Comparedwithsomechemicalmodifiedelectrode,theproposedmethodeliminatesthecumbersomemodificationprocesses,anditshowedhighgoodsensitivityandselectivity,whichhasbeenappliedtotheinjectionsampleanalysiswithsatisfaction.Theglassycarbonelectrodemodifiedwithhexadecyltrimethylammoniumbromide/multi-wallcarbonnanotubescompositemembranewaspreparedbycastingmethod,andtheelectrochemicalbehaviorsofepinephrineatthismodifiedelectrode.ThecompositemembranecanbeusedtodeterminationofEpand
