Recreational environment which’s another important criterion of evaluating the level of city life has been influencing the image of the city and people’s lives. Border town’s unique location and complex customs attracts a large number of tourists to leisure and tourism. With the western development, urbanization, construction of new rural social, neighbor countries’ culture which continue to integrating and initial capital savings of economic construction, how to form a leisure space which has natural and multicultural environment has been a great significance on leisure space environmental construction. Man Zhouli which is a junction of China and Russia is located in Inner Mongolia autonomous region and one of the first batches of open border cities. As the frequent cultural exchange of two countries, Man Zhouli is rich in culture and ecological resources which have many of the grassland and lakes. In 2010，It was named as one of the five key national development, opening and experimental areas, which faces a large-scale construction. The construction methods and quality of the environment quality of leisure space in Man Zhouli will play an exemplary role to the other small cities. So, this paper researches on design strategies of the border town’s leisure space environment in Man Zhouli. Firstly, the paper interpreted the concepts, theories, elements and development advantages of border town’s leisure space environment, then established a basic research framework. Secondly, through researching the leisure space environmental field of Man Zhouli, the paper summed up the status and the type of recreational resources. And the paper found the problems and characteristics of the border town’s leisure space in Man Zhouli through visits, case studies and questionnaires to the crow.
