AbstractDyewastewatercausedenvironmentalproblemsandenergycrisisalltogetherthreatthesustainabledevelopmentofhumanbeings.Typically,nanostructuredmaterials,especially3Dhierarchicalarchitectures,offerpotentialadvantagesindyeremovalapplicationsandenergystorageduetotheirlargesurface-exposureareaandalargefractionofatomsavailableforphysicaladsorptionorchemicalreaction.BecauseNi(OH)2haslayeredstructures,theytendtobethinflakesorplateletsinnatural/normalformationenvironments,wechooseitastheadsorbentand/orphotocatalysisforthedyewastewatertreatment.Becauseoflowcost,abundantresources,non-toxicity,Stabilityoftheelectrochemicalproperties,CuOcanbetheelectrodematerialsforthesupercapacitor.WecombinetheCuOandCNTstogether,duetothesynergisticeffect,thecompositestructureshowsthebestelectrochemicalperformance.Themaincontentsandconclusionsaresummarizedasfollows:Throughchangingthereactiontemperatureandtheamountofurea,3DflowerlikeNi(OH)2architecturesincludingα-andβ-Ni(OH)2phases,respectively,havebeensuccessfullysynthesizedviaafacilemicrowave-assistedhydrothermalmethod.α-Ni(OH)2hashighlyselectiveadsorptionofanionicdyeduetoitssurfacepositivechargedandhasgoodphotocatalyticactivity.Flowerlikeβ-Ni(OH)2nanostructuressynthesizedfrommicrowave-assistedprocesswithpositivelychargedandhydrophobicsurfacecanadsorbbothcationicdyesandanionicdyesfromaqueoussolutions.Studiesfoundthattheelectrostaticinteractionplaysadominateroleintheadsorptionoftheanionicdyes,whereasthecationicdyeswasboundthroughthehydrophobicinteraction.Inaddition,AdsorptionKineticandEquilibriumfortheβ-Ni(OH)2nanostructuresadsorptionofanionicdye(AF)andcationicdye(MB)wereevaluated,indicatingthatthesorptionsystemsfollowedthepseudo-second-ordermodelwiththecorrelationcoefficientshigherthan0.998andtheequilibriumdatawerebestdescribedbytheFreundlichisothermmodel.CuO-CNTscompositestructurewithspindle-shapedmorphologyhasbeensynthesizedthroughasimplehydrothermalmethod.ComparingtheCV,charge-discharge,andcyclingperformancewithCuO,pureCNTs,theCuO-CNTscompo
