I should finally like to express my gratitude to my beloved parents who have always been helping me out of difficulties and supporting without a word of complaint. ii ii 摘 要 《生死疲劳》是莫言的长篇代表作之一，也是翻译家葛浩文先生为莫言翻译的最新 一部译作。该部译作在短短几年中再版发行，受到国内外学者的极大关注。文学翻译不 仅仅是简单的语言转换，更是复杂的文化交流。目前已有学者从文体学、阐释学、目的 论等角度对该作进行了研究。前人研究和社会反响均已证明《生死疲劳》英译本是一部 优秀的翻译作品。 在语用学研究领域中，Verschueren 提出的顺应论已经得到了国内外学者的共同肯 定。顺应论强调语言的使用过程即为语言的选择过程。语言的动态顺应是由语言选择过 程的语境关系顺应和语言结构顺应来共同实现的。翻译活动正是一种译者使用语言、对 语言进行选择的过程。要使译文最终达到动态顺应的效果，译者必须在语言选择的过程 中积极地发挥主动性和创造性。译者主体性正是指译者为实现翻译的目的，在翻译过程 中所表现出来的主观能动性。译者主体性的发挥贯穿于整个翻译的过程，并影响翻译的 最终效果。本文从语用学的角度，以顺应论为理论指导，对《生死疲劳》英译本的译者 主体性进行探讨，希望通过具体的文本研究展现译者主体性及其对译文效果的影响。 译者主体性主要包括翻译的具体过程、译者对作者意图和读者需求的处理、译者对 原著和译作之间关系的处理以及译者对译文风格的处理这四个方面的基本内容。本文基 于顺应论，从译者在翻译过程中的语言选择和动态顺应这两个方面具体分析了《生死疲 劳》英译本译者主体性的体现，即从语言构建的各个层面以及翻译技巧的使用方面探讨 译者的语言选择过程；并且，通过语言的动态选择，在协调文化语境，以及原作和译作 风格的过程中，译者发挥主体性使译文达到动态顺应的翻译效果。 研究表明：语音上，译作不仅保持了中文民谣的音韵美，并形成了独特的英文诗歌 体押韵
