重庆大学 重庆大学硕士学位论文 英文摘要 II II ABSTRACT This paper makes comparative studies on the artistic styles of Lu Yanshao’s and Li Keran’s landscape paintings. As the well-known landscape painting masters in the 20th century, Lu Yanshao and Li Keran, makes a significant difference in the painting circles in China. Not only the artistic achievements, but also the social recognition shall be an important factor when we consider whether an artist can represent an era. Focusing on the artistic styles of Lu Yanshao’s and Li Keran’s landscape paintings, this paper makes a series of comparative studies on factors helping form such kind of artistic style, artistic composition and characteristics of landscape painting, ink form, innovation etc. Their artistic styles and innovative ideas have a tremendous influence on contemporary Chinese paintings and their artistic achievements are respected by the later generations. Based on the research of their landscape painting development, it can be seen that although they were born in the same era, they still share some differences in the painting styles owing to the influence coming from both subjective and objective aspects, such as family environment, the process of being apprentice, social relations, personal characters and so on. Moreover, they stand for two different landscape painting styles. Whereas, by making a general survey of their paths to success, we can draw a conclusion that they both choose to follow the tradition dialectically, seek the nature in depth, and advance with the times, which are the main elements that makes them successful artists. Through combining their artistic careers, the paper, via studies on commonality, diversity of artistic style between Lu Yanshaos and Li Keran’s landscape paintings, tries to provide guidance for the progressive development of contemporary Chinese landscape paintings and argues that all the artists in nowadays complex and fickle environment must hold a proper attitude toward the developmen
