PAGE PAGE IV Abstract Er Ya is the earlist special works for explains words,also the first thesaurus codified from meaning system and things classification.but it?s completed years, authors,named reason are all uncertain. this thesis heckles the authors, the completed years,the name, the table of contents of and the past different periods.research about it. The second chaper generalizes three exegetical styles in Er Ya Shi Cao ,and then explains with specific examples,in order to proclaim the Internal regularity in the exegesis of Er Ya. in the meantime, investigats the motivations in the exegesis about Er Ya Shi Cao from the image,the space-time,the sound ,the fuction,etc to explore exegetical characteristics and the named reason in Er Ya Shi Cao. The third chaper summarizes that Semantic gloss and sound gloss are the major exegetical methods in Er Ya Shi Cao. Semantic gloss and sound gloss also have different kinds , then explains those with specific examples,at last, summarizes some rules which have learning meaning .
