II II 摘 要 玛格丽特·阿特伍德的第一部长篇小说《可以吃的女人》被看作是 20 世 纪 70 年代北美女权主义运动的开山之作，作品不论是在内容上还是在形式都具 有一定程度的前沿性。小说看似平淡的“吃”中蕴含的却是女性对于理性社会 的思考和反抗，因而，自小说发表以来对于它的研究莫过于从女权主义方面的 评论，女主人公玛丽安的精神成长过程，即女性主体性意识的觉醒成为讨论的 焦点。事实上，作品中女性意识的觉醒并非如此简单，作者在将“吃”与女性 命运相联系的写作中体现出的是女性复杂的心态，以及将男性意识内化的过程。 女性对男性的反抗不是一维性的，而是一个不断压制又互相填充和嬉戏的过程， 这犹如西方思想史中身体与意识的关系。 本文结合作品，以“吃”作为切入点，探讨“吃”的生理、心理和社会学 层面的理解，逐步打开作品中由“吃”构成的非理性世界，并通过“吃”这一 身体的表达方式和女性的叙事话语揭示出女性的生存状态和复杂心理，并在此 过程中试图挖掘出掩藏在“吃”的背后的深层意蕴，即：西方文学传统中女性 “被吃”的主题；女性的多重身份，以及女性生存的现代性体验。论文包括以 下部分： 第一部分，对作品《可以吃的女人》研究现状的梳理。 第二部分，阐明关于“吃”的三重理解。 第三部分，着重阐述作品中玛丽安的情感变化过程与“吃”的关系。在对 作品关于“吃”的表征的叙述中，表明了“吃”是玛丽安在男性社会中表达自 我的方式，这种表达作为女性的叙事话语与男性构成了对话关系，而玛丽安则 在此对话中最终获得自我身份确定。 第四部分，阐述“吃”的背后的深层意蕴。 结语部分，以作品为例，揭示阿特伍德对女性命运的重新命名和命名的虚 无主义色彩。 关键词：《可以吃的女人》；“吃”的意蕴；研究与解读 PAGE PAGE IV Abstract “The Edible Woman” is the first novel of Margaret Atwood, which is regarded as the origin of the Feminist Movement of 1970s in North America, and its advances are showed in both content and form. The “eating” appearing in the novel seems common, but implies female’s think and resistance of rational society, thus, the process of spiritual growth of the heroine Marian, the awareness of female subjectivity consciousness becomes the discussion’s focus. In fact, the awareness of female subjectivity consciousness is not so simple, the author’s writing on the connection of the “eating” and female’s fate has reflected complex mentality of female and the process of internalizing male consciousness. Female’s resistance to male is not one-dimensional, but a process of continuous oppression, mutual stuffing and amusing, just like the relationship between body and consciousness in the history of western thought. Connecting with the novel, the comprehension of “eating” in physical, psychological and sociological have being discussed by considering the “eating” as the start point, and also, a non-rational world formed by “eating” is opened gradually.
