This paper mainly researches the construction of the urban-rural fringe communities which emerge in the process of urbanization in China. Based on the practice of the county of YunYan in the city of GuiYang in construction of the urban-rural fringe communities, the paper puts forward the basic concept of the urban-rural fringe communities and analyses in full detail the background and reason behind the urban-rural fringe communities in the course of urbanization in China. advances the four phase theory in the formation of the urban-rural fringe communities.
