II II Abstract In the process of urbanization， the floating population has gradually become a special and significant part of the development of city life. Nowadays， the management of floating population in rural-urban fringe zone is one of the significant part of Chinese government functions， as well as an essence of varieties of reforms and functions transformation of grass-roots government. With the deepening reform and open and the overall development of society and economy， the management has constantly faced a series of newly raised tasks and challenges. It is a question deserving research that how we can do to treat， analyze and solve the problem of control of floating population in rural-urban fringe zone in a proper way ， and adjust it to the needs of social development and harmony. Our subject aims to launch an research on the problem and its solutions of management of floating population in rural-urban fringe zone， and are specifically divided into four parts， they are as follows: To start with ，we make a statement on the background of our subject and its meaning of research. On the basis of overall understanding of research summary home and abroad， we present the logic and method of our topic， and simply summarize its characteristics and innovation. Next， a simple outline of bases of relevant theory is provided through information collection and settlement. Then， the further analysis of the weakness of our government management of floating population in rural-urban fringe zone is offered through an introduction of government function transformation and the existing situation of floating population on the basis of completed research. Last but not least， we adopt the method of documentation retrieval and case analysis to study the problem of management of floating population in rural-urban fringe zone.
