Abstract Abstract IV IV Abstract Objective: The aim of this study is to analysis the craniofacial morphology on adult unoperated cleft palate patients in the region of Jiangxi province through the cephalometric analysis with lateral and posteroanterior cephalograms ,and compared with the normal adult control group,in order to assess the influence of nonsurgical factors on the craniofacial growth in these patients. It will provide guidance and reference for the surgical treatment of congenital cleft palate patients, postoperative effect evaluation and the orthodontic and orthognathic treatment. Methods: 52 cases(18-26Y, 26 males, 26 females) of adult unoperated cleft palate patients were selected from the department of oral and maxillofacial surgery of stomatological hospital affiliated Nanchang university nearly six years (2008 ~ 2014) as the research objects, it could be divided into three groups, including 30 cases (18-25Y, 15 males, 15 females)of isolated incomplete cleft palate (ICP) patients, 12 cases of unilateral complete cleft lip and palate patients (UCLP)who had cheiloplasty before 3 years old (18 -23 Y, 6 males, 6 females), 10 cases of unilateral complete cleft lip and palate patients (UCLP) who had cheiloplasty after 12 years old (18 -26 Y, 5 males, 5 females), 30 cases of adults with normal occlusion were selected at the same region (18-25 Y, 15 males, 15 females) as control group. Each object was taken the lateral and posteroanterior cephalograms by the same radiologists, each X ray film was analysised by the same orthodontics using Winceph8.0 cephalometric analysis software twice, and measure of the average.SPSS20.0 statistical software was used to analysis the datas, comparing the adult unoperated palate cleft patients with the normal controls in jiangxi province whether there was a difference between each measurement(single factor analysis of variance one-way ANOVA and LSD test was used，the lever of significance was set to 0.05).
