“义”与正义— “义”与正义——原儒伦理之“义”与古希腊正义观之比较第第 PAGE 10页共 57 页 “Righteousness” and Justice—A Comparative Research about the Righteousness of Confucian Ethics and the Justice of Ancient Greece Abstract As the eternal topic of the human society, justice is an important issue and was researched by thinkers and philosophers of west and China since ancient times. Virtue and regulating has become two dimensions of it today. This paper is to conduct a comparative research based on the basic moral principles of Confucian “righteousness” and the justice of ancient Greece. Specifically, on the one hand, both of them were important moral principles to maintain social stability and development. As a result, both of them possess similarities upon the following three aspects, which come from metaphysical ontology, good works as value supporting and no universal. On the other hand, because of the restriction results form the different economic foundation, they are different in focus of interests, the relationship with law and cognitive style of individual. According to the comparative research of the theories between them, we found that both the righteousness of the Confucian ethics and the justice of ancient Greece can not be directly applied to the simple problems in the construction of contemporary social justice. Only if to combine the reasonable elements of them can we enrich and develop justice and achieve our social justice better. To sum up, the enlightenments they give us is that personal training and education in the school is the primary way of cultivating personal concept of justice. At the same time, the achievement of social justice must be completed through perfecting the social institution building which includes the following three aspects: to develop democratic politics, to distribute rationally and to strengthen the social security system.
