万方数据 万方数据 摘 要 美国黑人文学创作近年来得到越来越多的关注，尤其是以理查德·赖特的《土生子》 和拉尔夫·埃里森的《看不见的人》中的黑人男性研究更是受到了国内外学者的关注。 在女权主义泛滥的今天，男性气质及黑人男性气质研究呈上升趋势。这两部作品中的黑 人男性用不同方式折射出了其独有的黑人男性气质，对构建黑人男性气质有着重要的启 示意义，并为我们探讨男性气质尤其是黑人男性气质提供了范式。由于历史的创伤与现 实的困境，黑人男性失去了承担责任的勇气，其黑人男性气质一直处于被压抑与被阉割 的状态之中，因此给他们的男性身份带来了焦虑和危机。黑人男性应该打破传统支配性 男性气质的种种局限，摒弃征服，控制及暴力等消极因素；勇敢坚强，积极承担责任， 接受教育和黑人文化，这样的一种黑人男性气质才是最有利于黑人发展的。因此，对比 研究这两部作品中主人公的男性气质大有意义。 本文在前人研究的基础上，利用男性气质理论来探讨并比较两部小说中主人公所表 现出来的男性气质异同，旨在挖掘出影响其黑人男性气质背后的深层次原因，并探索黑 人在美国白人占主导地位的社会中如何建立属于自己的黑人文化身份以及如何建构黑 人男性气质，并在此基础上探析了美国黑人甚至是整个黑人民族在提倡种族和文化多元 化的新世纪的今天的最终出路。 本文由三章节构成: 第一章节为导论，主要对理查德·赖特及其《土生子》，拉尔 夫·埃里森及其《看不见的人》进行简单介绍，并阐明了研究背景和目的。第二章节为 文献综述，就两部作品的国内外研究现状进行了总结和归纳。第三章节为理论基础部分， 着重对男性气质理论和黑人男性气质理论进行系统分析，并得出作者对男性气质的理 解。第四章节和第五章节为本文的核心部分，前者比较两位主人公男性气质的差异，后 者探讨两位主人公男性气质的相似点，第六章节为结论部分，给出了本研究的主要发现， 提出了构建黑人男性气质的必要性并给出构建何种黑人男性气质的建议；最后提出了本 研究的局限并为将来的研究提出了建设性的建议。 关键词：《土生子》；《看不见的人》；黑人男性气质；比较研究 I The Comparative Study of Protagonists’ Masculinities in Native Son and Invisible Man Abstract The Afro-American literature has received more and more attention in recent years. In particular, the Bigger in Native Son by Richard Wright and the invisible man in Invisible Man by Ralph Ellison have attracted more and more attention from home and abroad. With feminism flooding today, researches on masculinity and black masculinity are on the rise. In these two works, the protagonists reflect their unique black masculinities in different ways, which has important significance for the black masculinity construction, and provide the paradigm for us to explore masculinity, especially the black masculinity. Due to the historical trauma and realistic dilemma, black men have lost their courage to take responsibility and their black masculinities has been suppressed and castrated, thus causing their male identity in a state of anxiety and crisis.
