 PAGE 6 Abstract Ancient Chinese bronzes have a long history, splendidly,and have a permanent historical value and artistic value. The bronzes have an important status in the Shang Dynasty rulers life and the sacrificial offering activities.For the living daily-use containers of food, wine, water, musical instruments and so on,they are monopolized by the slave-owners and the aristocrats,and become the sacrificial vessels, the magical instruments in the sacrificial offering and the etiquette activities. In the grand sacrificial offering situation, There are kinds of vessels on the altar such as Jue ,Gu ,Zun, You ,which is solemn and sacred scenes. This article will analysis the Shang dynasty?s bronzes that unearthed in Anhui and determine their ages and stages, and discuss their cultural appearance . Chapter I Firstly ,we mention from Anhui ShangDynasty?s bronzes? discovery, and make a summary of decades in academic circles research survey.Secondly, we elaborate Anhui Shang Dynasty?s bronzes on research?s significance. Finally, We explain the research methods, the material origins and the sources of ideas . ChapterⅡ We elaborate on the early bronzes of Shang Dynasty in Anhui. Firstly, we make the synopsis to the bronzes, including its type, shape, size, decorative design , unearthed place, unearthed age, utensil picture and so on,and then we make the comparison with peripheral localitys bronzes to judge its development phase and the age. In the early Shang dynasty bronzes, we believe that Bengbu Jue with cloud ＆ thunder pattern may be set in the era of the early Shang Dynasty. A group of utensils unearthed in Bogang in Jiashan, and their age may be decided in late time of Erligang to the first period of Yin ruins. Lu?an jia with string pattern and Gu with animal mask pattern should be the relics of Erligang period.Feixi bronze bell and jia with string pattern should be products of Erlitou culture.
