Xianning Agriculture Bureau， Xianning 437100， Hubei， China） 　　Abstract： Based on the survey and analysis on Hubei Nanshan district general situation of the resource conditions， sweet potato industry development， the condition of sweet potato processing and economic benefits， it is indicated that there were some problems including insufficient ideological understanding， poor level of cultivation， low technology of product， low degree of mechanization and low level of organization. As a result， several countermeasures were put forward. It is suggested to attach more importance and support to the sweet potato industry development， the construction team to conduct research and development of sweet potato， pays special attention to the base to promote potato industry technology content and efficiency， optimization model on the development of sweet potato industrialization and increasing investment pays special attention to the infrastructure construction of form a complete set of countermeasures. 　　Key words： sweet potato industry； current situation； countermeasures； Xianning city 　　甘薯种植效益好、市场需求旺、产业链条长、增值潜力大，不仅是重要的粮食、饲料作物，也是重要的工业原料和新型生物能源作物[1，2]。特别是在水源不足的山区或干旱年份，甘薯耐旱性强、抗逆性强、适应性广的优势可以充分发挥，具有较强的比较优势。发展甘薯产业是保障粮食安全、带动农民增收、推进农业产业化发展的重大举措。近年来，湖北省委省政府高度重视甘薯产业的发展，启动了湖北省甘薯产业发展专项。鄂南山地是湖北省甘薯主要集中种植区之一[3]，调研鄂南山区甘薯产业发展情况对加快湖北甘薯产业发展具有重要的现实意义。 　　1 咸宁市甘薯
