Abst Abstract 万方数据 万方数据 Abstract China has produced a large number of mine tailings per year, which not only cause serious environmental problem but also is a waste of resources. Due to the needs for environmental protection and sustainable development, the technology about mine tailings sand concrete has been proposed. This paper focuses on the structural performance of mine tailings sand concrete beam, to provide a theoretical basis for large-scale applications of mine tailings sand concrete in practical engineering. In this paper, we compare the flexural performance of four mine tailings sand concrete beams with an ordinary concrete beam’s by test, to understand the impact of tailings replacement rate on force performance, failure mode and deformation characteristics of mine tailings sand concrete beam. We analyze that the calculation formula about bearing capacity, crack resistance, crack width and deflection of ordinary concrete beam in design of concrete structures (GB 50010-2010) are suitable for mine tailings sand concrete beam. We verified the correctness and universality of the test conclusions by the finite element software. The main conclusions are as follows: ( 1 ) The mine tailings sand concrete beams have distinctive elastic, crack, yield and ultimate as ordinary concrete beam, and accord the plane section assumption. ( 2 ) The tailings replacement rate has little effect on ultimate bearing capacity and cracking moment of mine tailings sand concrete beams. The calculation formula about ultimate bearing capacity and cracking moment of ordinary concrete beam are suitable for mine tailings sand concrete beams, too. ( 3 ) When the tailings replacement rate is less than 40%, the calculated values and experimental values of maximum crack width and span deflection are in good agreement.
