Multi-index Evaluation of the Right Heart Morphology and Functions in Patients with Pulmonary Embolism after the Standard Treatment Using 2DE and RT-3DE ABSTRACT Objective To evaluate right heart morphology and functions in patients with pulmonary embolism using Two-dimensional echocardiography,TDI and RT-3DE,and to explore the changes and clinical application of different methods in evaluating right heart morphology , functions and pulmonary artery pressure. Methods Selected 30 cases of patients diagnosed of pulmonary embolism in Union Hospital of Fujian Medical University in 2012 -2013, all subjects treated in accordance with the guidelines for the treatment of pulmonary embolism, before and after mutual control. All subjects were undertaken Two-dimensional echocardiography, TDI and RT-3DE examination. Some traditional ultrasonic parameters of right heart, Tei index, RVEDV, RVESV, RVSV and RVEF were evaluated in all subjects. Some traditional ultrasonic parameters of right heart: RADD, RVDD, SPAP, Tei index, TAPSE, RVEDV, RVESV and RVEF were evaluated in all subjects. Application of SPSS 17.0 for windows statistical software to analyze, between groups were compared using the T test, inspection level a = 0.05. Results 2 weeks of follow-up after the treatment of pulmonary embolism thrombolytic and thrombectomy.Compared with the subjects before treatment, the RADD had no obvious change (P0.05), the RVDD, SPAP, Tei index and RVEDV were significantly decreased (P0.01), the TAPSE and REEF were increased (P0.01). Conclusion The conventional indicators of 2DE, Tei index, TAPSE and RT-3DE can effectively evaluate the right heart structure and functions in patients with pulmonary embolism after the standard treatment.
