As polym er is the m ain factor that determ ines the w ater characteristics, the m echanism of UF flux influenced by polym er-contained sew age is different from that done by common oil- contained sew age. The m echanism of flux decline w as show ed through theoretically analyzing in term s of feed-w ater rheology, operation pressure, cross- flow velocity, po lym er concentration and various resistances. The results indicated that the m echanism of flux decline w as resulted by concentration polarization and gel layer form ation of polym er, and the other reason w as that crude oil and inorganicm atter pluggedm em brane pores.
