The goal to write this article mainly includes two 部pects: One is to car巧1 on a concept combing about co甲orate govemance costs， and the other is the research of the govemance costs of the companies going on 白e market 出 well as the relations between the govemance costs they pay and economical achievements they reach. In order to understand the companys govemance ∞sts level， we had adopted the questionnaire survey form，which c缸巧r on 吐le investigation about more than 1，300 com归nies govemance costs going on the market. Through the literature summary we discovered that formerly the majority viewpoint was to act 出e agency costs 在s an important constituent of the corporate govemance costs. But the co早orate govemance is created as a result of separation of 也e property rights and the right of management. The agency costs are only an object of the corporate govemance; in other wordsthe main goal of co甲orate govemance is to reduce the agency cost. Therefore the corporate govemance costs refer to the costs spent in the implementation process of co早orate govemance. According to the difference of implementation subject，the coφorate govemance costs can be divided into several parts，such as the costs paid by the company itself，the costs paid by the market，由e costs paid by the supervising organization and the costs paid 句 the investor. The co早orate govemance costs studied in this article is a narrow sense cost which is only p缸ts of the costs paid by the company itself and it is mainly aimed at the company going on the market. In oth
