III III Abstract Chinese local traditional music has a long history. As the significant content of music world, it is rich and colorful. With development of modern civilization, gradual changes have taken place in local traditional music, the youth have no much interest in it and the local traditional music encounter tough situation. The general office of the state council on strengthening the Chinese intangible cultural heritage protection work opinion mentions that “strengthen the research, preserving and spreading of intangible culture heritage, organize all kinds of institutions, colleges, universities and experts to research the theory and practical problem of intangible culture heritage. HeLou Dance one of the Nanjiang basin’s excellent representatives of Chinese intangible culture heritage. It is the result of ancient agriculture and original from myth of the Emperor of Shen Nung. It is a kind of folk dance of ancient of Wu Hu of Yue People to celebrate bumper. We have responsibility to research and develop it. This article give an account of the environment, situation, lyrics , singing performance forms , Heritage and development of HeLou dance by visiting and surveying relative people and local people. The article combine the traditional local music with local college teaching to develop and inherit it . It is not only helpful to develop and expand culture of local folk music but also helpful to cultivate student’s interest and sense of national pride. It not provides abundant resource to local music teaching but plays an important role in the development of local college’s music teaching.
