ABSTRACTThe ABSTRACT The kiln is the key equipment of ceramic manufacture．One advanced kiln embodies burning，material，automation technology．After analyzing the characteristic of currentcontrol system of ceramic manufacture，this article raised up new project of the control system which is based profibus and designed the intelligent of temperature measure and control of kiln，which is according the characteristics of the kiln． After researching the theory and application of profibus，according some technologies，such STEP 7，configuration software，PLC，FCS and electfics，we optimize the former control of ceramic manufacture，then completed the configuration of this new control system．The control system adopts PC plus PLC plus Profibus field bus solve the control problems that resulted from the complexity of excessiveness and disperse of I／O，multiplicity of equipments，higher demand of harmonization between control equipments．In the control system，AC inverters，remote distributed I／O，compact I／O，meter and PLC form the DP slaves in the site field realize the drive and control；a Siemens S7—400 PLC．which DP maser,is used harmonize the work among these DP slaves via field bus communication；several PC used to display parameters，deal with alarm information，manage recipe，print report forms．The control system embodies the distributed control，centralized management of distributed control system，and incarnates the characteristics such total digital communication，highly openness and reciprocation of field bus control system， The detailed research is following： 1．After comparing and analyzing the advantages and disadvantages of Control System of ceramic manufacture，we raise up new controlling project which is based Profibus，Then completing the design of hardware and software of new Control System and the configuration of this new control system by using some technologies，such Profibus Bus、STEP 7、WINCC、PLC． 2．We investigme the characteristics and designing methods of Configuration Software
