Abstract At present, MSW logistics technology research and sanitation informationize system construction have gradually become hot research areas in China. Purpose: This paper aims to research and develop a new generation information system for MSW management, with taking logistics theory and urban geographical information technology as the technology platform. Methods: By utilization of the prototyping and structural mixed developing method, demands analysis for MSW informationalization management system was carried out from three points, which are structural system, data architecture and its application function. Content: The main research content is making preliminary design about configuration of the overall system, network configuration and the structure of the subsystem. In this paper, Access and Oracle database technology were employed to research data framework of the system from two points of view, which are attribute data and spatial data. Besides these, this paper implements the various functions of the system by use of GIS spatial analysis ability and database query and analysis technology. It also made a research on the methods of system data acquisition, data storage management, data updating, data maintenance, data normalization and data sharing. Based on these, it implemented a real-time, dynamic and efficient management on database. What’s more, modern logistics technology was brought into MSW collection and transportation as function extensions of this system. Conclusions: this paper got lots of certain achievements which are summarized as follows: It put forward the gross structure framework of MSW informalization management system; therefore, a real-time, dynamic and efficient data management was established finally; the paper extends the system functions by use of GIS spatial analysis ability as well as its graphical and visualization.
