Through data statistics and waveform analysis, it is feasible to test artificially the glue seam defects parts and good glue parts of laminated timbers by ultrasonic method. It also was found that the glue-line defects had qualitative relationship with wave velocity, amplitude and amplitude duration. The tester can ’t distinguish the quality of the glue seam defects only by wave velocity or amplitude, but should combine these two parameters and the overall waveform to get the conclusions. The existing test equipments should be modified to improve the test accuracy by testing and result analysis. So they may be expediently applied to the large wooden proj ects for on-destructive testing of laminated wood on site. Key words: laminated wood; glue seam defects; ultr
