ABSTRACT Eco environment has a close relationship with everybody’s life and survival, whether environment of the campus is in good condition or not will have much effect on the research and development of the teachers and students. This research project relies on the construction of Tianjin University in Jinnan District and aims at building a campus ecological information system. As pollution is all around us, the research topic in this paper has great significance. The campus ecological information system consists of three parts, one is the eco monitoring system based on hardwares, the second is the server used for data storage and exchange, the third is Android client with the function of querying and displaying eco information. The research project in this paper is a practical application of the IOT, using the sensor network to monitor and collect data of the campus, as to evaluate the water quality, much different types of sensors are needed. Communication nodes transfer eco data to the base stations. The server uses SSH architecture with SQLite database, the server is responsible for the storage of eco dada and offer interaction interface to the Android client. Green campus Android client has the function of querying location of the nodes, querying the real-time information of the campus environment, querying the history information collected by sensors. The client also supports the registration function, as the client shows information of campus only registered user can use it. The campus ecological information system maintains the function of data monitoring, data collection, data transmission, data storage and displaying together, the Android smart phone is chosen to be the displaying mobile terminal. The sensor network and server are backup of the client. The campus ecological information system functions very well to gain knowledge of changes of the water.
