(2) China is a country which has a long history. ?非限制性定语从句举例 (1) His mother, who loves him very much, is strict with him. (2) China, which was founded in 1949, is becoming more and more powerful. 2.译法不同 (1) His brother who is now a doctor always encourages him to go to college. ?他那当医生的哥哥常鼓励他要考上大学。（他还有其他的哥哥） (2) His brother, who is now a doctor, always encourages him to go to college. 他的哥哥是当医生的，常鼓励他要考上大学。（他只有一个哥哥） He has a brother who is a physicist. He returned all the books, which are written in English. 非限关系词 关系代词有as，which，who， whom，whose 关系副词有when，where 非限制性定语从句引导词的选择： （1）先行词指人,在从句中作主语，引导词用who: His mother, who loves him very much, is strict with him. （2）先行词指人,在句中作宾语whom: His wife, whom you met at my home, was a teacher. （3）先行词指物,在句中作主语或宾语which: Her house, which was built a hundred years ago, stood still in the earthquake. 注意：无论先行词指人或者指物,在句中作主语或者作宾语，非限制性定语从句的引导词都不能用that。 （4）先行词在句中作定语，无论指人或者指物,引导词都用whose: The girl, whose name is Kate, is the top of the students in our school. The book, whose cover is red, is mine. （5）先行词在句中作时间状语用when： The sports meeting will be put off till next month，when we will have made all the preparations. （6）先行词在句中作地点状语用where： The next day we arrived in New York, where we were interviewed on the radio. （7）如果先行词作介词的宾语 先行词指人，介词提前的结构是：介词＋whom 先行词指物，介词提前的结构是：介词＋which The girl, with whom he is familiar, is a football player.
