ABSTRACTShaoxing ABSTRACT Shaoxing Chongdiao Dazangyin(《绍典重雕大藏音》)was a dictionary f Buddhism，written by the monk whom named Chuguan of the Jingyan temple in the Northem song dynasty．However，it was not such as Long Kan Shou坍馏(《青苣禽手镜》)written by the monk ofLiao dynasty received SO much favor．So there is little research about it．In spite of this， Dazangyin collected a lot of handwritten vulgar words，part of these words followed the same writing as the words with the Han，Wei and Six Dynasties to the Tang dynasty，some were the common writing of the Song dynasty；and some other were relatively uncommon，disappeared in dictionaries of Buddhism，such as Long Kan Shou Jing and Xinji Zan巧ing Yinyi Suihanlu(《新集藏经音羲随函绿》)，as well as the contemporary official dictionary J／Yun(《集颓》)．It reflected Chuguan’S standard about collecting the variant Chinese characters and view of the orthodox Chinese characters，which were different from the official dictionaries．As a result，these variant Chinese characters played an important role in many ways，such as replenishing large dictionaries and the study of Chinese history In this paper,the main content is divided into five chapters： The first chapter is the introduction，presenting the present situation， significance and value of the research in Shaoxing Chongdiao Dazangyin． III 万方数据 It It also makes mention of the obj ect，purpose，steps and methods of the study． The second chapter makes the overall overview on Shaoxing Chongdiao Dazangyin，introduces its author and how this book was finished．According to the comparison between the different versions of Shaoxing Chongdiao Dazangyin，we affirm one in this paper,and then confirm the standard of variant Chinese characters this paper adopted to analyze these characters’style． The third chapter classifies and arranges these variants’structure types which are divided into three aspects specifically：shape evolution， structure changes and chirography evolution for understanding the font characteristics and l
