PAGE PAGE 10 The correlation of ApoE gene polymorphism and the locality and size of cerebral infarction Abstract: objective:Though CT/MRI scan and calculating the locality and infarction volume of each patient with cerebral infarction (CI) , and test apolipoprotein E (ApoE) genotype of the patients and the control group .Discuss the correlation of ApoE gene polymorphism and the locality and size of cerebral infarction, to provide a new basis for the CI genetic research and clinical diagnosis and treatment. Methods:In all, 162 patients with CI and the control group comprised 120 healthy human beings included.Taking 2 ml peripheral venous blood to extract DNA, and used for the preparation of genomic DNA template, detection ApoE genotype by the multiple polymerase chain - ligase detection reaction (PCR - LDR) technology. CT/MRI Head scan calculating each patient infarction location and the size of the infarcts,Analysis the different parts of the ApoE genotypes and the differences of alleles distribution with the control group,and relationship with the size of the infarct volume.SPSS19.0 software was used to analyze these date. Result:①there was no significant difference between CI group and the control group about individual gender composition, age, and BMI.?In CI group and the control group ,all have were detected with E3/3, E3/4, E3/2, E2/4, E4/4 and E2/2, 6 kinds of phenotype. And E3/3 is the highest proportion of homozygous, the frequency is 70.4% and 73.3% respectively.Statistics found that there is no significant difference between the two groups of 6 kinds of genotype distribution in individuals. (χ2＝4.476，P=0.483).In CI group, the frequency of allele ε3、ε4、ε2 was 83.0%, 9.6% and 7.4% respectively.While In the control group, the frequency was 83.3%、11.3%、5.4%.There was no statistical difference between two groups in (χ2＝1.214，P=0.545).?There was no statistical difference in the frequency of three allele distribution in hemispheric infarction,basal ganglia a
