Research Research on the Riverside Design of the Great Cannel in Jiangsu Province Author：Wangzhonghua Supervsior：Yangjianmin,Wanghao Specialty：Landscape Plant and Ornamental Horticulture Abstract The riverside is an important constituent ofthe Great Caunel and the city．It based on not only the history,politics，economy and culture，but also the geography,geomorphy and hydrology．弧e riverside has the value of the。c0109t‘eal and cuttural heritage．In other words．the riverside relat瞄to the entire development ofthe Great Cannel and the eity．The landscape ofthe rivelside is paid more attention,along with being listed as the sixth batch of national protection cultural relic and deel撕ng the world culture inheritance．Therefore， we must delve the Great Caunel and find a way fit for the design ofthe riverside． 1flw riverside of the Great Cannel in Jiangsu province had been chosen as the research object．1rI圮conception of the riverside was defined through the literatures．books and the interuet．At the same time，the study on the ecological，visional and human value provided Some theory basis to the research on the Great Caunel in Jiangsu province． Based on the investigation(such as interviewing the inhabRant,taking pictBres， coordinating with the department to collect quantification materials and the examples aS more as possiblel ofthe Great Cannel in Jiangsu province,mainly the cities ofthe northern Jiangsu(Huaian,Yangzhou)and the cities of the southern Jiangsu(Zhenjiang,W11)【i， Changzhou，Suzhou),the problems were summarized by completely and seientifical analysis．For example,because ofthe lack ofreasonable design,the landscape layout ofthe riverside was diSOrdeC the landscape content of the riverside was tedium，lack of the characteristic；the water pollution Was serioRS，the riVer ecolo西cal environment encountered the serious destruction 0、“ng to the improper opening intensity and construction dynamics；lack ofthe integrated protective measures． 111c domestic and foreign landscape des
