北京工业大学工学硕士学位论文Abstract 北京工业大学工学硕士学位论文 Abstract Social economic modernization，urbanization，and motonization that make great progress of Beijing transportation．Whi|e．many serious traffic problems had been brought almost at the same time．Transportation demand management(TDM)is one of the most cost effective solutions to transport problems，such as congestion．traffic pollution，etc． It is the disequilibrium between transportation supply and demand that brings the problems．The tradition solutions are mostly increasing the supply, and they are passivity．on the contrary，TOM measures are positive，and they emphasize particularly on the leading，adjust and management to traffic demand，in this way．the traffic load and the congestion would reduce effectly． TDM measures emphasize the movement of people and goods．rather than motor vehicles．and so gives priority to public transit，rideshadng and nonmotorized travel，pa rticularly under congested urban conditions．One of the aim of the TDM is reducing the travel amount，the other one is making the distributing of time is in equilibrium with space． This paper summarizes the history and present of TDM measures at home and abroad and the experiences and lessons of TDM in Olympic games holded by other cities．The paper also builds the theory system of TDM strategies，and confirms the define，connotation and hiberarchy．and preliminary studies of the theory and the operation mechanism of TDM，and analyses the instance of representative TDM measures concretely,at last presents the six predominances of TDM．Based on the facts mentioned above， the paper laies a practice and theory foundation for framing the TDM strategies when Beijing government will hold Olympic games at 2008． Based on the experiences and the theory of the TDM．and integrating the characteristic of Beijing traffic，the paper brings forward method structure of Olympic Games TDM of Beijing．and according to the data of surveying and studying，puts forward the concrete strategies scheme of s
