AbstractWlth Abstract Wlth the deVelopment O± IntematlonaI communlcatiOn and further enforcement of the Ref0咖and OpeniⅡg-up p01icy in China，it is increasingly sigⅡificant t0 study English．The success of China’s biding for 2008 0lympic games make“a big task for Chinese uniVersities and colleges，especially PE ones， to make eVery effort to improVe their English teaching．Equally important，only by mastering English and oVercoming the communicatiVe dif矗culties can the PE majors in chjnese uniVersities and colleges gain the precious opportunity to face chaUenge iⅡ our society and come up to meet the new requirement of our motherland．HoweVer，the situation of English teaching is not satisfying iⅡChinese PE univers“ies and colleges．The majority of the PE major shows littIe interests in L_earning English and little enthusiasm in English course，not to meⅡtion their English perfo册ance and study effect． Better pedagogical method are needed urgently in those uniVersities to create good class atmosphere tO attract students and stimulate their study motiVe and make them more confident in their English stud y． This study aims at introducing communicatiVe Language 711caching(CIJ)，an adVanced and popular pedagogy both abroad and in non—PE area of china，into the research of En91ish teaching in PE uniVersities and coUeges and also exploiting more suitable English teaching methOd for these institution to utilize．It also focuses on studyiⅡg the influence of CIJ on the study interests，motive and effect of PE majors and releasing their anxiety in communication in English aⅡd learning English．Two English classes in Grade 2002 of Capital Institute of Physical Education are chose as the subject of the teaching experiment in this study．The English classes of the experimental group are taught under the mode of CIjr，while the classes Of the referential group are taught under the traditional language teaching mode．The teaching experiment is carried out rigidly according to the pedagogical p“ncip
