Revision Show pictures in Grammar Focus and ask Ss to talk about the weather like this: A: How’s the weather in Picture A? B: It’s snowy. A: What is he/ she doing? B: He/She is....... Ⅱ. Presentation 1. Show the 3 pictures in 2a on the big screen. Present the new words and phrases. visit, Canada, summer, sit, juice, soon, vacation, hard, Europe, mountains, country ,have fun doing … 2. Ss learn the new words and expressions and try to understand the expressions. 3. Give Ss some time and try to remember the new words and expressions. Ⅲ. Fast-reading 1.Ask Ss to go through the2postcards and look at the pictures. Match the pictures with the 2 postcards. 2. Ask Ss to answer a question: Where are Su Lin and Dave ? 3.Check the answers. Ⅳ. Careful-reading 1. Tell Ss to read the 2 postcards carefully and fill in two charts. 2. Check the answers and explain the language points if necessary. Ⅴ. Post-reading Tell Ss to read the 2 cards quickly and answer the two questions: 1.Can they do these things at the same time(同时)? No, they cant. 2. But why do they always use “be + doing” ? They use “be doing” to talk about things that is happening these days. (用现在进行时表示最近一段时间手头正在做的事情，不一定就是说话时正在做的) (This can help to consolidate the use of present continuous tense.) VI.
