aNature^ “Science”两词的译介与 中国社会人与自然关系之重构 陈月红 三峡大学外国语学院 摘要： 人与自然的关系是目前生态研究屮的核心问题。由于地理位置、文化传统、经济 模式等因素的影响，中西方传统在人与自然关系的建构方而存在根本差异。大体 而言，西方倡导“天人两分”，中国崇尚“天人合一”。但自19世纪下半叶开 始，随着“中体西用”等对外交流战略的实施，中国不断学习、吸收西方的机械 论自然观，这种自我西化特别鲜明地表现为:主动译介“Nature Science 这两个最能代表当时西方自然观特征的概念。文章基于屮西传统自然观的对比， 深入探究这两个西方概念是如何在中国生根发芽，并革命性地颠覆曾主宰中国 社会儿千年的“天人合一”的自然观。对该问题的探讨有助于了解翻译对中国社 会人与自然关系重构的影响。 关键词： 科学;自然;翻译;生态研究; 作者简介：陈月红，湖北宜昌人，博士，三峡大学外国语学院副教授，主要从事 生态批评与翻译研究。 收稿日期:2017-05-12 基金：三峡大学人才科研启动基金(KJ2014B029) How Did the Translation of Two Western Concepts Concerning the Western Views of Nature Shape the Reconstruetion of Man-Nature Relationship in China? CHEN Yuehong School of Foreign Languages, Chirm Three Gorges University; Abstract： Man-nature relationship is the key question that the current eco-studies have to address. Due to the differences in terms of geographical conditions, cultural tradition， and economic modes, China differs drastically from the West in the traditional construction of man-nature relationship. Roughly speaking, the West advocates man-nature dichotomyn , while China eulogizes “man-nature unity” . However, ever since the second half of the nineteenth century, with its implementation of the national strategy of ulearning from the West” , China began to take the initia tive in absorbing the modern Wes tern mechanical views of nature, which, in particular, can be illustrated by its absorption of two typical Western concepts related to the Wes tern conception of the physical world, namely, nature” and science” .This paper aims to examine how the concepts of “naturev and scicncc” had cntered into Chinesc and then gradually marginalized the traditional Chinese organistic views of nature that had dominated the Chinese society for more than 2, 000 years. It is hoped that the study can help us understand better the role that translation has played in shaping the reconstruction of man-nature relationship of the Chinese society.
