Department of M echanic, Shan hai University , Shan hai 200444, China) Abstract: Based on the 2D finite element model, chan es of the fibre distortion re ion in the preform were investi ated durin the Zpinnin process. The shape and size of the resin zone w ere quantitat ively charact erized. Characteristic parameters of the fibre misali nment an le and the nonuniform distribut ion of local fibre content were made, and the rule of the fibre nonuniform distribution was obtained. On this basis, influence of the Pin diameter on the m icrostructure of t he laminates was numerically analyzed. The results show that the Pin diameter has a reat impact on t he resin rich zone. The misali nment an le and fibre volume fract ion increase w ith the Pin diameter, however , the max imum does not chan e si nificant ly .
