Section B reading part， from Grade 8. I will talk about it from the following six parts, including Material Student Analysis, Teaching aims, Teaching key difficult points, Teaching methods, Teaching procedures and Blackboard designing. Material Analysis: The topic of this unit is about the preference and opinions on things. This topic is connected to other units and is helpful for the students to talk about their own ideas. For the reading part, the main purpose is to get the students to understand the functions of cartoon characters in American culture. Student Analysis: The students of Grade Eight like watching cartoon movies and they are familiar with the cartoon characters including Mickey Mouse. So they are very interested in this part. Life experience is very helpful for the students to understand the passage, know about the culture and history of Mickey Mouse. Teaching Aims: Be able to understand the new words and phrases such as culture, famous, appear, successful, common, main, reason, character, unlucky and be ready to. Get a reading skill --- Time Order. Get the way to guess new words. Understand the history and culture behind cartoon characters. Teaching Key points and Difficult points 1.
