Title：Grid Title：Grid Services-based GIS Data Sharing Pattern MajorComputer Software and the Theory Name：PANG Zhixiong Supervisor：Prof．LI Shixian ABSTRACT Today，more and more people pay attention to the problem of GIS data sharing． Although the technology of geographic information had been well developed，the problem,as named G1S Information Island，hasn’t been resolved SO far．The main reason is that the software environments where the GIS resource exists are heterogeneous。It is hard tO fulfill the interoperability in these environments。Although the distributed object technology and Web technology call partly meet people’S requirement of GIS data sharing，their architectures make themselves hard to equally share the data resource among the independent organizations． Ian Foster brought forward the Grid Computing in 1990’S．The goal is to create the illusion of a simple yet large and powerful self-managing virtual computer out of a large collection of connected heterogeneous system sharing various combinations of resource．Grid computing provides a good way to share GIS data resource． In this paper,we design a new application pattern using the combination of the OpenGIS specification and OGSA(Open Grid Service Architecture)．This pauem is called Grid Services-based GIS Data Sharing Pattern．The goal of this pattern is to resolve the foUowing problems：(1)how to issue the metadata of the local GIS data by means of Grid Services；(2)how call clients allocate the appropriate GIS data resource according to their requirements；(3)how Can clients access the GIS data from the GIS resource providers． In this pattern，we define four key types of Grid Services with the details of their interfaces。Besides，we design and realize a deployment solution for this pattern．With this solution，we have a new easier way to sharing the GIS data． Key Words：GIS，Grid Computing，Data·sharing，OpenGIS，GML Ⅱ 中山大学硕士学位论文 中山大学硕士学位论文 基于网格服务的GIS数据共享模式 第1章绪论 1．1背景简介 GIS(地理信息系统，Geographic Information System)自60年代初
