第 第 页 i 摘 要 摘 要 地名是语言中的一部分，是一定的社会群体为表示特定方位、范围的地理实 体而运用的语言文字。本文以湖南省吉首市地名作为研究对象，在深入广泛地进 行田间调查和古今文献对照的基础上，运用语言学、民族学、历史学等学科知识， 对吉首市全市区的地名进行了系统的描写和综合的分析研究。主要做了如下研究： （1）概括吉首的语言环境、民族背景和吉首地名的研究方法、研究现状。 （2）探讨吉首地名的语言特征，描写分析吉首地名中的民族语成分，土家语 和苗语地名的构成类型，吉首地名中主要的造词方式以及各种修辞手法在地名中 的运用。 （3）从宗教信仰文化、盘瓠文化、白虎文化和农耕文化等方面探讨吉首地名 所蕴含的文化特征以及这些文化对吉首地名的影响。 （4）从军事制度、“改土归流”政策以及行政区划等方面揭示历代建制对吉 首地名的影响，找寻它们在吉首地名中留下的痕迹。 （5）分析吉首地名的变化现象，揭示其变化的原因和规律，指出时代变化、 人们审美追求以及城市发展等因素影响和制约着地名的发展与演变。 主题词：吉首地名；语言；文化；解读 ABSTRACT ABSTRACT 第 第 页 ii ABSTRACT Placename is one part of the language which is applied to describe the specific orientation and geographical scope by one certain social group.This paper focuses on the place names of Jishou city, Hunan Province. Basing on the intensive, wild field investigation and past—present documental contrast, it will carry out a systematic description and an integrated analytical study of the place names of Jishou’s urban area. The main researches of this paper are listed in the following: First, this paper introduces the language enviroment and ethnic background in Jishou, also presents research methods and research status of Jishou’s place names. Second, this paper investigates the linguistic features of Jishou’s geographic name. The paper describes the component part of national languages in the place names, such as types of formation of Tujia language and Miao language. The author also analyzes main means of word—building and various rhetorical devices in the place names. Third, this paper explores the cultural characteristics and cultural influence in Jishou’s place names in understanding from the angles of religious culture, Pan Hu culture, White Tiger culture and farming culture. Fourth, the paper discusses the influence of organizational system in different dynasties from aspects of military system, land reform and administrative division, etc. Fifth, the analysis on variation phenomenon of Jishou’s place names which reveals the reasons and regularities of the change,
