AbstractABSTRACT Abstract ABSTRACT The railway signal equipments are important facilities that ensure the safety of train operating and improve the efficiency of transportation．Whatever ways the signal equipments work in，all of them are restricted by some certain logical conditions．With the application of the computer in the railway safety control system， the establishment and implement of the signal equipments’control logical relation has already mainly been completed by the computer．Therefore，the formalization description of the lo西cal relation between the railway signal equipments has become more and more important．The formalization description can not only help computer to carry out the concrete logical control，but also improve the dependability of the computer．The key to solve this problem lies in looking for a formalization description tool which can desc．ribe the logical relation accurately．It is expedient for the computer to make the formalization description of the control logical relation between signal equipments with this kind of t001．Currently,the formalization research result is very few in the field of the railway signal．Based on the existed formalization description tool，the author tries to make the further research in this field． This paper emphasizes on discussing few common formalization methods and analyzing the characteristics of them．Combining with the variety of rules and relations of the railway signal equipments to put forward respectively the Control Petri．net(CtrlPN)and the logic Petri·net(LPN)based on the PN(Petri‘net)theories． And the two extended Petri．nets combine to complete Control and Logic Petri- nets(CLPN)theories for the formalization description of the railway interlocking logic．As the actual application study,the paper chiefly introduces the basic method for formalization description of railway interlocking logic，and makes the research according to the CLPN formalization description theories and methods． Key Words：computer i
