It is widely used in petrochemical industry , electron , food , medicine and medical treatment . The membrane separation technology can be applied in the production of medicine and medical treatment , such as the extraction of Chinese medicine , the separation , concentration , purification of western medicine , artificial kidney and artificial lung. The advantage and disadvantage of membrane separation and some possible ways to overcome the disadvantage are also discussed .
