AbstractLu Abstract Lu Jiuyuan，styled as Zi Jing and alias as Xiang Shah，was born in Jinxi，Fltzhou， the present Jiangxi Province．He was born in 1139 and died in 1193．Throtl#out his life，Lu，a famous thinker and educator，adopted teaching as his career and founded the school of heart learning as well as the foundation of Wang Yangming Sch001．Lu occupied a very important position in the history of education and ideology in Ancient China．However，the study of Lu mainly focused on his thinking in philosophy and education and a systematic review of his life and thoughts is highly necessary．For instance，his thoughts on ethics and politics and the development process of Differences and Similarities ofZhu and Lu are still under further research． This paper is divided into six parts．In the first part，The Life ofLu Jiuyuan，Lu’S extraction，paternal teaching and influence are discussed in detail，together with his academic ambition and teaching experience．The establishment and development of X／n theory are also analysed in this part．In the second part，The Development of Confucianism and the Origin of Xin Theory,the development of Confucianism，as well as the orgin of X／n theory，in the early southem Song dynasty is depicited，in order to fully display the characteristics and status of Lu Jiuyuan and his X／n theory in the southern Song dynasty．In the third part，Issues Concerning Lu 0 Philosophical ThoughtS，the essence and characteristics of X／n theory are analyzed and a comprehensive study of Differences and Similarities of Zhu and Lu，all unsettled academic issue，is made，together with discussion and commentary of its origin and development，which is of much innovative value，In the fourth pan，The Political Thoughts ofLu，political thoughts of Lu’S have been studied in detail from different perspectives including political ideology，civilian based thoughts and thoughts of legal systems．The valueable thoughts of Lu’S have been reviewed，which was rarely discussed and of much innovatio
