The trigger systems, as the core components of converters, directly affect the performance of converters. The triggers made in U.S. used in J-TEXT Tokamak work well and meet the control requirements in the electromagnetic environment of J-TEXT Tokamak. Yet high prices, long procurement period and inconvenient maintenance cause several problems during use. Therefore, this paper expands the research of triggers according to the need of J-TEXT Tokamak power supply. This paper firstly designs the hardware and software of the trigger system according to the input with a fixed frequency. The hardware consists of the conversion circuit of voltage with voltage attenuation, low-pass filter, voltage selection and over-zero comparing, the digital-to-analog conversion circuit, the thyristor drive circuit with Darlington transistor and pulse transformer and FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array) system circuit. The software includes the phase sequence checking, the voltage-absent protection, the digital-to-analog conversion program, the all digital phase-locked loop (ADPLL) and the pulse generator module. Then it designs the hardware and software of the trigger system according to the output voltage of the pulsed generator. The hardware of this system consists of the conversion circuit of voltage with voltage attenuation and electric conversion, the conversion circuit of angle control signal and the DSP (Digital Signal Processor) system circuit. The thyristor drive circuit in the trigger system for the input with a fixed frequency can be still used in this trigger. The software in this trigger also includes the phase sequence checking, the voltage-absent protection, the digital-to-analog conversion program and the pulse generator module.
