VAbstract V Abstract The thesis first describes spherical modeling and．triaxial modeling of halo den— sity profiles．The former is called the NFW model，while the latter is put forward by Jing＆Suto(2002)．Then，the paper compares their application to clusters their application to the distribution of intracluster gas and M。T relation，These theoretical results can be tested by observational data，thus we can identify which one is better．The thesis contents include four chapters． First，we introduce the background of the large scale structure formation in chapter 1．We discuss from the following three sides：standard cosmological model， the structure formation theories and the halo model．I hope they will give you some clues of the research background and update status． On the basis of chapter 1，we present observational proof in chapter 2．Beacuse we emphasize particularly on the application to clusters，here only the observations of clusters are Iisted．There are four subjects：X—ray observations of hot gas in clus— ters，the Sunyaev—Zeldovich effect in hot intracluster gas，gravitational lensing by clusters and non—gravitational effects．Just because the existence of observational proof，we can test our theory．Of course，there are some limits On observational in— struments．SO it leads to some uncertainty,such as the density and temperat，ure profile of introeluster gas． The NFW model is detailed introduced in chapter 3．0111emphasis is it’S ap． plication to clusters，esp in the following aspects-the distribution of introeluater gas and M—T relation．So．the chapter is organized by four closely related parts：the NFW model’s introduction，the temperature profile of introeluster gas．the den， sity profile of intracluster gas．and M—T relation．The NFW model iS based on the spherical average．thus it has some deficit．This iS the cause of triaxial model pre- sented by Jing＆Suto(20021．I hope you can understand the NFW model and its result about cluster’S character from the chapter． My work iS present
