ABSTRACT The process of Chinese and Western cultural communication has never stopped, since ancient times there are many messengers strive for the cultural communication. Xiong Shiyi is the one who play the role of communicator between China and west cultural communication and Chinese traditional culture, his works have left a deep impression on European and American, the purpose of intercultural communication has been achieved. Xiong Shiyis works are the production of two kinds of culture, it’s provides a better model for overseas Chinese literature creation. His equal cultural communication consciousness and the exchange of creative intent, has made the remarkable contribution for the Western cultural exchange bridge construction. The paper could sum up his foreign communication attitudes and practices by analysis and research on Xiong Shiyi and his works. First of all, with drama “Lady Precious Stream” as the research object, summarizes he standing of western culture in culture communication; then with novel “The Bridge” as the object, summarizes he standing of the national culture while culture communication; finally he hope to build a “bridge” between Chinese and Western culture. The main ideal of this paper is lying in the position and purpose of cultural communication of Xiong Shiyis works.
