AbstractThe Abstract The SUCCESS ofvocal music performance iS closely related to how to choose singing repertoire．In recent years，because singers oiten select the wrong song，many vocal performance failures have appeared one by one in the domestic and international vocal competitions。and performances．Why the singer will choose the wrong repertoire in the vocal competition and performance?How to make the singer to choose the vocal repertoire scientifically?Starting from this issue，the paper uses three music teaching theories which are made by Shengxiang professor嬲a theoretical basis to answer the two questions．At first，‘‘repertoire selection’’refers to the choice and use of music repertoire．This definition involves two aspects， one is about the vocal repertoire which has a broad and divers ified features； the other is the artist features which refer to the freedom and subjectivity of individual selections．Secondly’the use of the vocal music teaching theory to interpret the repertoire selection is to achieve the following objective that using a scientific theory as a guide to choose the vocal repertoire reasonably．Under the guidance of the three vocal music teaching theory which include“step by step；vary,individualized；patience，deep inspiration’，the singer can select vocal repertoire嬲follows．Firstly, according to the degree of the singer’S singing determine the appropriate level of the repertoire．Secondly,try to use the lively and interesting way to choose the vocal repertoire which suited to the singer’S own personality and characteristics．Finally,to select those repertoires which the singer can understands the emotion content of the vocal works．At last，through the case study of vocal competitions，concerts and opera arias，the study suggests that the most effective way for the singer to make a successful vocal performance is to choose their own voice，personality,temperament， singing style，singing language，singing skills，vocal repertoires singing range to sing in t
