At the same time show some pictures of pollution T: The earth is our home. People always say the earth is our mother. But nowadays the earth is polluted, and the pollution is one of the biggest problems in the world. Dou you know what the mainly kinds of pollution are? Step2. Presentation (1a) There are some words related to different kinds of pollution in 1a. Write them in the box in 1a individually and add more words. Check their work with several students. Step3.Listening (1b) Students listen to the conversation and complete the sentences in 1b. Check their work with several students Students listen to the conversation again and check the sentences they hear and check the answers with the whole class. Step4.Pair work (1c) Have the students to role-play the conversation. Then make their own conversations about the kind of pollution in 1a. e.g. Sa: The …was dirty. Even … was full of… Sb: But it used to be so … Sa: Yes, but … are throwing litter into … Sb: Everyone in this town should play a part in ….! Get some pairs to present their conversations to the whole class. Step5.Llanguage points teaching Explain the language points to the students Try to do sth=try one’s best to do sth Be related to=have to do with Play a part in Litter and rubbish Step6.group work Students work in group of six and discuss what we should do to protect the earth in our daily life. Ask one of the leaders to read their answers. Step7.Summary and homework 1. Copy the new words and remember them. 2. Make a poster---save the earth!
