Teaching plan
Students: Grade six of Huha Road primary school, Huhhot.
Time: 2016/10/12
Aims:
1. To use verb phrases (V+ing) to talk about one’s hobbies and friends’ hobbies.
To read, understand the four club notices in different reading strategies(skimming, scanning, guessing words from context, summarizing)
To listen, read the notices in correct pronunciation, tone and sense group.
To write own club ads like the sample.
To know the information elements of writing notice.
To know the importance of making friends.
Teaching points:
Key points:
To understand the ads with reading skills.
To learn to write an ad.
Difficult points:
To use suitable words to sum up the ad.
To organize the information correctly.
Preparation: PPT, Pictures, video, rewards, objects (football, book etc)
Teaching steps:
Step 1. Warm-up
1) Greetings
2) Free talk
T: What are your hobbies?
Ss: I like...and...
S1: What are your hobbies?
S2: I like...and...
T: What are his/her hobbies?
S3: He/She likes...and ...
[purpose] Students practice the key pattern and ving phrases with pairs. The teacher asks the listeners the question and in this way, the third person use is consolidated.
Step2: Presentation
Present the four notices one by one with different reading skills.
Notice 1
Pre-reading (scanning)
T: What club is it?
Who writes the club notice?
T: Read it quickly and find out information directly.

Skimming
T: Read the notice carefully and decide the statements “tick or cross”.
