PEP7 Unit4 I have a pen pal PartA Let’s try Let’s talk
Teaching aims
1.Perception aim:
a)The Ss can hear, read and use the main sentence patterns “What are …’s hobbies?” “He/She likes ….” “He lives on a farm, so sometimes he reads to the cows.”
b)The Ss can understand and read the conversation of the lesson and use the sentences correctly.
2.Ability aim:
a)The Ss can use the sentence pattern of asking the hobbies.
b)The Ss can use the patterns to express their thoughts in the proper scene.
c) The Ss can pay attention to the use of the third person singular of verbs.
3.Emotion aim:
a)By completing the task, the Ss increase their interest and set up self-confidence in language study.
b)Teach the Ss what is “hobby” and “ Hobbies can keep us happy and smart”, put the moral education in the language study.
Teaching points
Key points:
a)Be able to use the core words and sentences in the correct situation.
b)Be able to read the dialogue with right pronunciation and intonation.
c)Pay attention to the use of the third person singular of verbs.
Difficult points:
Be able to use the core words and sentences to make new dialogues in proper scene in pairs.

Step 1 Warming up Revision
Enjoy a song: My new pen pal
T: I have a friend. He is Peter. He likes reading stories and playing sports. And I think we have many hobbies, too. Today we’re going to talk about hobbies. ( hobby hobbies)
Play a guessing game(do the action and guess).
T: I’ll ask a student to come here, look at the words or phrases, then he or she does the action, and others guess. (eg. dancing, swimming, singing, cooking, reading stories, doing kung fu, playing football, playing basketball, drawing pictures, listening to music…)
Talk about hobbies.
