Lesson 38 Hobbies Are Fun! 【教学目标】 1.能够掌握课标要求的“四会”词汇:postcard 2.了解如何介绍个人爱好。 3.了解如何写简单的说明文。 【教学重难点】 1.掌握一些与介绍兴趣和爱好有关的重点词汇:fun, useful, popular, favourite, hobby 2.激发学生兴趣,让学生向他人介绍自己了解的不同的兴趣和爱好。 3.掌握以下重点句子: ①A hobby is not only fun but also useful. ②It can help you make more friends and teach you to work well with others. ③People usually take up their first hobby when they are kids, but hobbies are fun for all ages. ④It’s never too late to learn something new. 【课前准备】 录音机、幻灯片、图片 ┃教学过程设计┃ 一、创设情境,切入主题 Step 1 Lead-in Lead in by discussing the following questions: What types of hobbies can you think of? What new hobby do you like? Why do you have hobbies? Show some pictures of different hobbies. Let the students discuss the questions in groups. Then ask them to present their results in front of the class. They can be dialogues or reports. 二、展开过程,探究新知 Step 2 Listening Listen to the tape and fill in the blanks with the words you hear. 1.A hobby is both________and useful. 2.Games are very________among many people. 3.There are many different________of hobbies around us. Step 3 Reading Read the passage and answer the following questions: 1.What can a hobby help people? 2.What things do people collect? 3.What are outdoor activities? Finish the task in class orally. Step 4 Practice Make sentences with the language points: 1.teach sb.to do sth. S1:Will you please teach me to swim? 2.take up sth. S2:I took up this hobby when I was only five years old. 3.too...to... S3:He is too young to go to work. Step 5 Activities Introduce what you know about hobbies. Work in groups. At the same time, the teacher walks around the classroom to see if the students have any questions. The students discuss for a while, then the teacher lets some students come to the front to show their introductions. Step 6 Come to “Let’s Do It!” Read the lesson and finish Exercise 1.
