May or may not have knowledge about the receiver Can be single individuals, groups, or even organizations Encoding- encoder Refers to the activities that a source goes through to translate thoughts and ideas into a form that may be perceived by the sense. Message The actual physical product that the source encodes. Channels The ways the message travels to the receiver. Your examples? 1.1.2 Receiving the Message Decoding- decoder Consists of activities that translate or interpret physical message into a form that has eventual meaning for a receiver. Receiver The target of the message. 1.1.3 Feedback Refers to those responses of the receiver that shape and alter the subsequent messages of the source. 1.1.4 Noise Anything that interferes with the delivery of the message.
