Teaching procedures:
Step I Revision (1 min’)
Ask some questions to revise part A :
Did you watch TV last night?
Did your father watch TV last night?
Did you finish your homework yesterday?
What did you have for supper yesterday?
When did you go to bed last night?
Step II Lead-in (3 min’)
Ask two questions to present part B:
Where are you now? The teacher can ask some students to answer
this question and write this question on the
blackboard.
( We are in the classroom now.)
Where were you last night? The teacher writes the question on the
blackboard before asking the students
to answer it.
(I was / We were at home last night.) The teacher writes this correct answer on
the blackboard after some students
answer it.
Step III Presentation (10min’)
Let students compare the two questions on the blackboard.
Ask some students to say the differences between them.

Let students look at the answer to the second question to find out the rule:

Let students conclude the different forms of the verb “to be ”and write them on the blackboard:
