The source text was selectedfrom Steven Mill ward9 s article Software Study: Imaginary App”. The translatorextracted Chapter 13 from it which described how apps as an ideal commodity tomeet consumer requirement. It helps reader to make a profound understanding ofusage of App in the era of data in China. Also it helps reader to explore how to realizethe benefits of the application economic. The work report consists of five parts: PartOne introduces the translation material and illustrates the significance and purpose ofthis project, which aims at offering a reference to those who are interested in App,popularizing the idea of Whats Chinas Netizens Want: Building Tech Ecosystemsin the Worlds Toughest Market, practicing and improving the translatorstranslation capacity and language level; Part Two is a background research of thisproject, which includes preparation and text analysis; Part Three introduces EugeneNidas translation theory of functional equivalence theory. Part Four clarifiestranslation difficulties and solutions. Examples and analyses are given in order tojustify the translation methods adopted in the translation process, includingamplification, omission, conversion, division and so on.
