Lesson 17 Save the Tigers 一、教材分析 本单元是冀教版八年级下册unit 3 animals are our friends.主要围绕animals这一主题展开各种教学活动，本课是这个单元的第五课时，通过描述救助老虎的组织机构、老虎对于环境的重要性及老虎面临灭绝的危险，号召人们保护老虎，保护野生动物。 二、教学目标 知识与技能目标 1. 单词和短语 Century, fur, symbol, courage, brave, chain, balance, reason, disappear, kill, cut, decrease. At the beginning of, drop to, the number of, in balance, in danger, cut down, as well. 2. 重点句子 At the beginning of the 20th century, the number of tigers in the wild was around 100000. Today that number has dropped to a few thousand. The tiger is at the top of the food chain. It helps keep the number of other wild animals in balance.
